What this site collects, which is very little
Benefit Year is a set of static pages. There is no account, no form, no newsletter and no login, so there is very little to say here — but what there is, is said plainly.
No forms, no list, no account
This site has no sign-up form, no quote form, no newsletter and no login. Nothing on any page asks you to type anything in, and nothing is stored about you by us as a result of reading a page.
That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. A dental coverage site that collected details about your mouth or your policy would be holding health-adjacent information, and the safest way to look after information is not to have it.
Server logs
The server that delivers these pages keeps the ordinary technical records any web server keeps: the address of the page requested, the time, the browser's user-agent string and the requesting IP address. They exist so the site can be kept running and abuse can be spotted, they are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not sold.
Cookies and analytics
We set no advertising cookies and run no cross-site tracking. If an analytics tool is ever added to measure which pages get read, it will be named here before it goes live, together with what it records.
Your browser may store things of its own — cached files, for instance — which is between you and your browser and can be cleared from its settings.
Partner links
Three links on this site go to companies that sell dental discount plans, which are not insurance. Those links pass through our own /go/ address and on to the seller, and if you buy something afterwards we may be paid a commission by them.
What that means for your data is simple: once you leave, you are on the seller's site under the seller's privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive your name, your email address, your payment details or anything about what you bought — only, at most, an aggregate count from the network that a sale happened. If you would rather not be counted at all, type the company's address into your browser instead of following the link; the page reads the same either way, and our disclosure page explains the arrangement in full.
If you write to the editors, we have your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as that exchange is useful. It is not added to a mailing list — there is not one — and it is not shared.
Children
Nothing here is aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes, and how to ask
If this page changes, the change will be visible on this page; there is no archive of earlier versions because there has been nothing to archive. Questions about any of it go to [email protected], and we will answer in plain terms.
